A collaborative development process

From the earliest concept through post-launch support, our approach is collaborative, transparent, and focused on delivering results you can rely on.

Door Construction Options

Our doors are engineered to align with your platform requirements, from structural integrity and weight targets to operator visibility and environmental sealing. Each material and configuration is selected with your application, performance criteria, and regulatory considerations in mind.

Whether the need calls for an all-steel assembly or lighter-weight vinyl or polycarbonate solutions, every door is designed to integrate cleanly into your platform and support repeatable, production-ready builds that boast long-term reliability in the field.

Our metal doors are ultra durable and engineered for OEM integration. They can be configured with the following options:

  • Sliding glass windows
  • Acrylic lower windows
  • Bulb rubber seals
  • Lift-off hinges
  • Gas-spring assist
  • Lockable outer handles

Plastic doors are a strong fit for OEMs looking for lightweight, adaptable solutions. Available options include:

  • TPO plastic
  • Bulb rubber seals
  • Lift-off hinges
  • Gas-spring assist or tethered
  • Rigid metal frameworks

Our vinyl doors are developed to support lightweight, adaptable enclosures. They can be configured with:

  • Welded steel frames
  • Clear vinyl skins (30 oz)
  • Bulb rubber seals
  • Lift-off hinges
  • Gas-spring assist or tethered
  • Lockable outer handles

Where visibility and operator experience are critical, glass doors offer the following options:

  • AS2 glass for maximum visibility
  • Formed interior handles
  • Bulb rubber seals
  • Lift-off hinges
  • Gas-spring assist
  • Lockable outer handles

For a lightweight, durable, and repairable alternative, our aluminum doors offer:

  • Corrosion resistance
  • Commercial-grade protection
  • Full weather sealing

For environments that demand durability without sacrificing visibility, polycarbonate solutions offer:

  • High visibility
  • Water and dust resistance
  • Corrosion resistance

Windshield Construction Options

At Curtis Industries, windshield construction is driven by visibility requirements and safety standards. Each configuration is developed to align with your platform’s structure while supporting operator comfort and protection in a range of environments.

From hinged designs to a myriad of material options, our windshields are engineered for a precision fit, effective sealing, and repeatable quality, ensuring reliable performance in the field.

Safety windshields are engineered for operator protection and regulatory compliance, with the following options:

  • Curved or flat AS2 glass
  • Dot fade silkscreen
  • Hinges with over-center latches
  • Bulb rubber trim seals
  • Wipers

When impact resistance and reduced weight are key considerations, acrylic windshields become an attractive option. Our configurations can include:

  • Impact modified acrylic
  • Steel tube frames
  • Vents
  • Bulb rubber trim seals

Polycarbonate windshields are built to handle demanding conditions and may incorporate:

  • Abrasion-resistant coating
  • Steel tube frames
  • Dot fade silkscreen
  • Hinges with over-center latches
  • Bulb rubber trim seals
  • Wipers

For platforms requiring AS1-rated glass and reinforced construction, our laminated windshields include:

  • AS1 laminated glass
  • Steel frames (required; no drilling permitted in AS1)
  • Flat or curved profiles
  • Hinges with over-center latches
  • Bulb rubber trim seals
  • Wipers (mounted to the frame)

HVAC Systems

Our HVAC systems are engineered around your platform’s space constraints and performance targets. Each system is built to deliver consistent climate control while maintaining efficient airflow and sealing.

As the most economical option, our standard heaters can be equipped with the following features:

  • Plumbed into vehicle cooling systems
  • Two-speed axial fans
  • Custom wiring harnesses
  • Three vents

Our custom heaters can be plumbed into the vehicle’s cooling system. They are tailored to your platform and airflow requirements, allowing for:

  • A factory look
  • Custom wiring harnesses
  • Any combination of vents
  • Multiple axial fans or squirrel cage blowers

Our universal A/C systems are designed for adaptable integration across platforms. For electric platforms, they require 70A for both large and dual alternators. Each one is pre-charged at our Massachusetts-based factory and features:

  • Rooftop design
  • Electric or belt-driven compressor
  • Approximately 16° – 35° temperature delta

For platforms requiring a more advanced, integrated climate system, our custom HVAC systems are pre-charged at our U.S.-based factory and accommodate one- or two-row configurations. They include:

  • Integrated design options
  • Belt-driven compressors
  • Cooling capacity from 4.4 kW to 9 kW
  • Heating capacity greater than 3.5 kW
